    Interpretation of HDL cholesterol analysis results<\/h2>\n

    Patients using certain medications can expect increased HDL cholesterol levels. Some of these medications include cyclophenyl, oral contraceptives, fibrinic acid derivatives (clofibrate, gemfibrozil), estrogens, simvastatin, lovastatin, nicotinic acid, pravastatin, phenobarbital, carbamazepine, captopril, Furopidamine, and coenzyme Q10.<\/em><\/p>\n

    Certain drugs such as androgens, cyclosporine, beta-blockers (especially non-cardioselective), interferons, diuretics, thiazides, or interleukins may lead to decreased HDL cholesterol levels.<\/em> Reduced HDL cholesterol results may also be due to other factors. This includes the presence of abetalipoproteinemia, hypertriglyceridemia, and uncontrolled diabetes mellitus. Additionally, early coronary artery disease, cholestasis, nephrotic syndrome, and chronic renal insufficiency may lead to deviations.<\/p>\n

    On the other hand, increased HDL cholesterol levels can occur for various reasons, including hyperalphalipoproteinemia, primary biliary cirrhosis, and chronic hepatitis.<\/em><\/p>\n
