What is melanin?

Melanin is a natural pigment that gives color to the skin, hair, and eyes. It is produced in specialized cells called melanocytes and plays a role in protecting the skin from harmful UV radiation. Causes of melanin in urine

These cells produce melanin in abnormally high amounts, which can lead to melanin entering the bloodstream and eventually being excreted in the urine. This occurrence is usually detected in the later stages of melanoma, making early diagnosis essential for further medical care.
