The TPA analysis is a valuable tool for detecting and monitoring conditions associated with certain types of cancer. Timely testing can enable early diagnosis and treatment, thereby contributing to effective disease management and improved patient outcomes. At IntroLab laboratory, we are committed to providing reliable and accurate TPA analysis, supporting best practices in oncological diagnostics and treatment.
What is TPA?
Tissue Polypeptide Antigen is a specific protein that is often found in increased amounts in malignant tumors. It is involved in the processes of protein breakdown in cells and is often elevated when cells are actively involved in growth and division, which is characteristic of cancer. The TPA analysis, performed on a blood sample, measures the level of this protein, providing important information about the presence and progression of certain types of malignant tumors, including:
- breast cancer
- ovarian cancer
- lung cancer
In addition to detecting and monitoring tumor progression, TPA analysis can also be used to assess the effectiveness of therapy, where a decrease in levels may indicate successful treatment. However, elevated levels can also occur in non-malignant conditions, meaning that the analysis results should always be interpreted in the context of other diagnostic tests and clinical findings.
