IntroLab provides a high-quality HPV QUANT – 21* test, capable of accurately detecting the presence of 21 different types of human papillomavirus (HPV). Your safety and diagnostic accuracy are our top priorities.
What is the HPV QUANT – 21 test?
The HPV QUANT – 21 test is a molecular test based on quantitative PCR (polymerase chain reaction). This test allows for the precise detection and quantification of specific high-risk HPV types in samples taken from various parts of the body, including urethral, vaginal, and cervical swabs.
When and why is the HPV QUANT – 21 test performed?
This test is used to identify the presence of specific types of human papillomavirus (HPV). It is typically recommended for both women and men between the ages of 30 and 65 as part of routine screening or after receiving positive results from other HPV tests.
The analysis may also be performed if there is a suspected HPV infection, such as when certain symptoms or cervical changes are present. The HPV QUANT – 21* analysis can detect specific high-risk HPV types associated with an increased risk of cervical cancer, making it a valuable tool in early cancer detection programs.
What is Human Papillomavirus (HPV)?
HPV is a group of viruses transmitted through sexual contact. There are more than 200 different types of HPV, some of which are linked to various forms of cancer, including:
- cervical cancer
- vulvar cancer
- vaginal cancer
- penile cancer
- anal cancer
- oral cavity cancer
Most HPV infections occur without symptoms, and the body typically clears the virus on its own. However, in some individuals, the infection can persist and increase the risk of cancer. This is why early diagnosis and monitoring of high-risk HPV types is extremely important.

Preparation: For genital swab collection it is necessary to contact the laboratory in advance to schedule an appointment. For optimal results, testing should ideally be done before menstruation begins or at least 2 days after it ends. Avoid genital hygiene practices on the day of the test. Refrain from using vaginal creams or ointments for 3-5 days prior to the test. Additionally, avoid sample collection during antibiotic treatment or within 24-48 hours after sexual contact to ensure accurate results.
