If you experience symptoms like a runny nose, sneezing, or itchy eyes during the spring or summer, you may be allergic to oak pollen. At IntroLab we offer the Oak T7 test to help you identify and manage this allergy.
What is Oak T7?
Oak is a common tree, and its pollen is a major allergen in many parts of the world. The Oak T7 test detects specific antibodies in your bloodstream that respond to oak pollen.
When is the test recommended?
This test is recommended for individuals experiencing symptoms of seasonal allergies. Symptoms of an oak pollen allergy can vary but commonly include:
- Runny or blocked nose
- Sneezing
- Itchy or burning eyes
- Red, watery eyes
- Coughing or difficulty breathing
- Fatigue and weakness
In more severe cases, asthmatic symptoms like wheezing and shortness of breath may occur. These symptoms often arise or worsen during oak pollen season but can persist year-round if you come into contact with oak leaves, branches, or pollen.
How is the sample collected?
This test requires a blood sample, usually drawn from a vein in the forearm.
